Winter Daze

Winter Daze is a bi-monthly outdoors column mixing humor, irrelevance and satire with mild Tahoe service information and some heads-up event-y type goings-on (Strunk and White rules are normally observed except when I really want to get a point across). Every issue of WD has a California / Tahoe resort lift ticket giveaway based on either relevant trivia or a ‘name-that-place’ photo. The column is not a typical 'where to stay, where to play!' piece, nor is it a boring ski town history lesson. Last season's first subscriber summed it up pretty well when he asked for "irreverence and in-your-face content with respect to our advertisers, of course." Winter Daze is not exactly 'in your face,' it's more 'above-the-belt-probably-in-the-gut-area'...

The goal for the year-round column (Spring Daze, Summer Daze, Fall Daze) is to become somewhat syndicated in both print and web media. Digitized 35mm images are available with every submission. Contact Alex directly for details.

Please feel free to peruse these WD excerpts and other writing samples.
